If Donald Trump lands in the White House, Hillary Clinton might end up in federal prison

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) There is a reason that the Washington establishment is scared to death that billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump could win the Oval Office, and it is related to the promises he has made to the American people to take on the powerful, entrenched elite.

Not having to rely on Super PACs and donors who give only because they want something in return, which is usually far different than what the American people want, Trump, in speech after speech, is carefully laying out his vision and his goals. With each speech and each promise, the establishment gets more and more nervous and their hostility grows.

Recently, Trump pledged to reopen a number of Obama-era scandals, including some that directly involve his most likely Democratic challenger, former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.

Among the scandals and incidents Trump has pledged to revisit during his administration is the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl affair. In case you've forgotten, Bergdahl is the U.S. Army soldier who, according to members of his platoon, deserted his post in Afghanistan in 2009. He was summarily held for years by the Taliban; President Obama traded five top Taliban commanders that had been held since 2001 at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, military detention facility for Bergdahl in early June, a deal that has been widely criticized.

In a recent speech, Trump addressed this case and the overall disparity between the behavior of members of the Islamic extremist group ISIS and the U.S. government:

"We have to be politically correct.... So they can chop off the head of an American Christian, and we can't waterboard," Trump said, referring to an interrogation technique used by the Bush
administration to extract information from Islamic terrorist suspects that simulates drowning; the Obama administration has
deemed it torture.

"It's not fair. It's not fair... Think of it. Think of how crazy and how lopsided our country has become," he continued. "Think of what's going on. Think of why we're not respected. Think about Sgt. Bergdahl, a deserter, a traitor... Think of it. He's a dirty, rotten traitor.... Six people died going after him. They died. Six young, incredible, brave people died. The deal is, we get traitor Bergdahl, they get five of the best people that they have, that they've been after for 10 years, they get five killers that are right now leading and are back on the battlefield trying to kill everybody..."

He went on to note that just days ago, the Pentagon announced it would not seek jail time for Bergdahl in a decision that has upset current and former U.S. troops. He then intimated that Bergdahl would have faced a firing squad "in the old days".

Trump then said, "if we win...I promise you, we will be reopening that Bergdahl disaster," though admittedly it wouldn't be his most important objective. (Note that The Fifth Amendment prohibits trying someone twice for the same crime).

From there, Trump promised that there would be "a lot of things reopened," and some believe that could be a signal to Clinton that her unauthorized and possibly illegal use of an unsecured private email server to conduct top secret State Department business is in his crosshairs.

In August, Trump heavily criticized Clinton's actions, even calling her behavior "criminal."

"It was a terrible thing she did. It was a very foolish thing," Trump told CNN.

"She broke the law. If you shoot somebody, you can't just say you are sorry," he said. "What she did was wrong, what she did was bad for our country, so we'll see" what happens to her.

He also noted that the Obama administration prosecuted retired Army Gen. David Petraeus, the former CIA director, for mishandling classified information on a scale much less than what Clinton has already been found to have done.

With Trump still topping Republican polls, establishment figures in both parties continue to have sleepless nights.
