Government thugs arrest, strip-search innocent parents because son played basketball in backyard for 90 minutes

by L.J. Devon, Staff Writer

(NaturalNews) On a spring day in April of 2015, a Florida couple was making their way home. On this day, they were running 90 minutes behind schedule. They got stuck in traffic and weren't able to make it home in time to let their 11-year-old son in the house. Their son didn't have a key, so he played basketball in the backyard and waited for his parents to get home.

A curious neighbor got nosy and suspicious seeing the boy at home alone, locked outside. The neighbor didn't check on the child or use any common sense at all; instead, the neighbor contacted authorities to make the unsubstantiated claim that a child was being neglected. Police arrived at the house shortly thereafter.

CPS and Florida authorities irrationally use force to tear apart another family

When the parents finally arrived home, they met a barrage of irrational police officers who obviously made no effort to understand the situation. Instead, the police made a big deal out of nothing and used force rather than common sense. The parents were immediately arrested and charged with neglecting their child. Awestruck, the parents were separated from their son and handcuffed. They were also strip-searched, fingerprinted and thrown in jail for the night.

The 11-year-old boy was immediately called a "victim" who was neglected by his parents. He was removed from the house. The couple's younger 4-year-old son was also removed from the home by an irrational band of agents working for Florida Child Protective Services. The boys were eventually placed in foster homes for two days and then transferred to relatives.

The law reads, "A person who willfully or by culpable negligence neglects a child without causing great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement to the child commits a felony of the third degree."

Apparently, authoritarian thugs can interpret a law like this for the most insidious and irrational means. According to emails obtained by FreeRangeKids.com, the authorities justified their capture of the 11-year-old by claiming that he had no access to water or shelter.

The government does not own the children

Later that month in court, attorneys and the judge presiding over the case argued whether to return the children back to their family or have them whisked away into foster care. In court, the 11-year-old spoke up to the judge, pleading to come home.

According to the mother, "He [her son] went back there and spoke to the judge for about ten minutes. And then the judge came out and called the two lawyers to the bench and talked to them for about 10 or 15 minutes. And with that, our lawyer came to us and said that if we admitted that we didn't know that it was wrong [for our son] to stay in the backyard, but that we know now that it's wrong and we will never let it happen again, and that we will explain this to our son, he would let the children come with us."

At the end of their wits, the parents decided to comply with the judge's orders, and the case was closed.

The CPS is an unconstitutional bureaucracy founded on the philosophy that the government or state owns the children, not the parents. The CPS is a smack in the face to individual liberty and parental rights. Thug CPS agents don't try to understand a family's situation. They feel like they are doing a good job when they take kids away from parents, regardless of the situation. Thug agents intrude into innocent, harmless family matters without any moral discretion, rationality, common sense or adherence to the rule of law. In many cases, they are really kidnapping children from innocent parents. This kind of kidnapping is backed by the power (and guns) of government. In the end, rogue agents are never held accountable, either. They use their power to make parents feel inferior and helpless.

If parents have been wrongly accused and arrested and their children have been taken, there is no way to compensate them for the hell that they are forced to go through to prove their innocence and reclaim their parental rights. The time lost with their family leaves a permanent and damning mark in their memories, something that cannot be forgotten.
