The perfect Germanwings cover story: Every time psych meds cause mass murder and suicide, the media blames the victim

by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) All manner of speculation is surfacing about the character of Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, the man who the media says intentionally crashed a commercial airliner into the French Alps, killing himself and 149 others. But amidst all this chatter about whether or not Lubitz was a homosexual or whether he suffered from depression and other mental health problems is a serious lack of focus on the pharmaceutical drugs that this disturbed young man was admittedly taking prior to the incident.

Reuters has taken to directly blaming Lubitz for the horrific crash, citing the testimony of a flight attendant who reportedly had a relationship with Lubitz back in 2014. Her accounts of Lubitz's thoughts and behaviors reveal some serious problems with the way the man viewed the world, including his supposed desire to achieve something by which "everyone will know my name," to quote the words of the anonymous flight attendant.

The International Business Times has chosen to focus more on Lubitz's alleged homosexual tendencies, claiming that he "trawled gay porn websites and sites relating to suicide" just prior to the crash. Lubitz's supposed private obsession with various "sexual perversions," say some media sources, may have driven him into a state of lunacy where he, apparently tormented by his secret desires, had sought out a way to cause mass harm and death.

"He [Lubitz] did this for a reason which we don't know why," claims Brice Robin, a prosecutor in the case. "[B]ut we can only [deduce] that he destroyed this plane."

Psychotropic drugs can cause permanent brain damage leading to homicide, suicide

All of these accusations concerning Lubitz may be true, or they all may be false -- we'll never really know, because Lubitz is now dead. But the fact that Lubitz had, in fact, been treated by at least four different psychiatrists in the months leading up to the crash, and a "small mountain" of antidepressant drugs were reportedly found at his apartment, the true culprit in all this just might be pharmaceuticals.

It seems as though pharmaceutical drugs always take a back seat in these kinds of stories, as if legal drug use that involves mind-altering psychotropics and antidepressants is somehow a non-issue when it comes to violent or otherwise unusual crimes of this nature. If it can be confirmed that Lubitz definitely crashed the plane on purpose, the drug aspect simply can't be ignored.

As we reported in March, there have been all sorts of shootings and similar violent rampages over the years that were associated with the use of mind-altering medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). In multiple cases where the culprits didn't die or kill themselves in the end, reports indicate that they didn't even recall pulling the trigger on their classmates or stabbing their grandparents.

The reason for this is that drugs like Prozac, Zoloft and Ritalin directly alter brain chemistry, which can produce varying effects depending on the individual. For some, it might just mellow them out for a little while. For others, it can induce violent outbursts, severe depression, rage and in some cases mass homicides and suicide.

The website SSRIStories.org contains a collection of over 5,000 stories published throughout the media over the years that involve prescription drug-related violent crimes. A quick browse through these reveals a pattern of atypical behaviors, often involving murder and suicide, that were clearly prompted by the use of prescription medications.
