Obama declares war on superbugs with another dictatorial executive order that funnels money to Big Pharma

by Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) Dictator Obama has signed yet another executive order that altogether bypasses Congress, this time to address the growing threat of "superbugs" that no longer respond to common antibiotics. CNBC reports that the order will award a $20 million prize to whoever can come up with a viable testing regimen for identifying and tracking the spread of resistant bacterial infections.

The order calls on the appropriate government agencies to submit a plan by February outlining how the superbug threat will be tackled over the next five years. A new task force has also been established, co-chaired by the secretaries of Defense, Agriculture and Health and Human Services, as well as a special presidential advisory council made up of "non-governmental" experts.

Included in this nice-sounding plan is a call to double the current public investment into antibiotic surveillance, stewardship, and research and development. This would bring the total annual investment to $900 million, which of course will be covered by taxpayers. And who will be getting all this fast cash? Drug companies, naturally.

"This is an urgent health threat, and a threat to our economic stability as well," stated Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Superbugs, Ebola, 9/11 and the emergency crises that sidestep the law

So whenever there's a crisis that the government deems "urgent," the new norm is for said government to impose emergency rules or restrictions that, more often than not, completely bypass the law. This is what Obama is doing with his new executive order (EO), it's what the CDC is doing with Ebola, and it's what the Bush Administration did after 9/11.

Whether or not the crisis is even real, the government will use it as an excuse to take away more of our freedoms or increase the power of the police state. In this case, the government is using the superbug crisis as a way to funnel even more money to Big Pharma, presumably to come up with a new "cure" for antibiotic resistance.

Never mind that Big Pharma is directly responsible for creating superbugs in the first place -- no, let's just give the drug lords even more of our hard-earned money so they can create new drugs that will create more drug resistance, and on and on the cycle goes.

Obama's EO will increase national surveillance, further chip away at national sovereignty

Highlights from Obama's 33-page EO reveal that part of the plan is to not only develop new antibiotics to address growing resistance, but also to increase national surveillance on the spread of this bacteria. As the spread of bacteria is tracked, the government will actively promote the use of new antibiotics which are to be funded by taxpayers.

In the meantime, efforts to develop new ways of testing for antibiotic resistance will be undertaken with international support. The EO clearly explains that "international action" is needed to address the threat, including in areas of drug development and promotion. This screams of a globalist agenda that, like the EO itself, sidesteps U.S. law in favor of international interests.

"The United States has supported ongoing exchanges with the European Union through the Trans-Atlantic Taskforce on Antimicrobial Resistance (TATFAR)," explains the EO, noting that this task force was created by Obama back in 2009 in agreement with the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Action Plan for Microbial Resistance.

"Multilateral efforts will include: supporting the development of the WHO Global Action Plan to Address Antimicrobial Resistance; strengthening cooperation under the European Union-United States TATFAR; increasing political awareness regarding the health, economic, and security impacts of antibiotic resistance; and mobilizing broader international support to combat antibiotic resistance through venues such as the recently launched GHSA," it adds.
