Maintain a healthy weight with organic food and exercise to lower your risk of these 10 cancers

by S. D. Wells

(NaturalNews) Excess weight sure is easy to come by, but hard to drop; that's just a simple fact. Cravings for the "bad sugars," the bad fat and the bad salt can be overwhelming, but so can the health detriment from being overweight or obese for an extended period of time. Not only could you find yourself battling depression and lethargy, but now research reveals the most common forms of cancer that are directly attributable to being overweight or obese, and this particular study was done on 5 MILLION ADULTS in the UK and published in The Lancet. The research correlated a higher BMI (body mass index) to 12,000 cases of cancer every year in the UK and is the largest study of its kind.

Conclusion: As BMI in a population increases, so will cancer, most likely. This is the new hypothesis as a result of the study and could translate into 3,500 extra cancer cases every year in the United Kingdom. Of course, we all know that cancer needs something to feed on, and its favorite food is refined (HFCS and GMO) sugar. That same sugar causes more diabetes and cardiovascular disease worldwide than anything else on the planet.

"A total of 166[,]955 people developed one of the 22 cancers studied over the follow-up period. BMI was associated with 17 out of the 22 specific types of cancer examined," the study stated.

"Each 5 kg/m2 increase in BMI was clearly linked with higher risk of cancers of the uterus (62% increase), gallbladder (31%), kidney (25%), cervix (10%), thyroid (9%), and leukaemia (9%). Higher BMI also increased the overall risk of liver (19% increase), colon (10%), ovarian (9%), and breast cancers (5%), but the effects on these cancers varied by underlying BMI and by individual-level factors such as sex and menopausal status. Even within normal BMI ranges, higher BMI was associated with increased risk of some cancers."

Dr. Krishnan Bhaskaran of the study explained how there was much variation in the "effects of BMI" on the different cancers, especially with cancer of the uterus. Excess weight, in other words, could account for more than 40 percent of uterine cancer cases and up to 10 percent or more cases of cancer of the liver, colon, kidney and gallbladder.

This could easily serve as a template for the same effects worldwide. Translated into pounds, this would mean that an 8- to 10-pound increase in BMI per adult (adding roughly 3 to 4 kg every 12 years) could add as much as 3,700 cancer cases in the UK each year. This is all preventable and unnecessary suffering.

Wake up, exercise and start a plant-based diet

Americans might take a good long look at this study and learn something from it. It's not that hard to curb appetite with organic vegetables, but most overweight and/or obese folks never give it a chance. Sensors in and around the stomach tell a person that they are "full" but react differently to vegetables than they do to carbohydrates, sweets and starch foods. You may need to eat more often, but if it's a plant-based diet, well then, enough said. Exercise can be kept simple, like going for long brisk walks, jogging or jumping rope. Plus, physical activity becomes much more enticing when the body is energized with nutrition-dense "super" foods instead of the junk science, gluten-loaded GMO processed world of nutrient-dead "food." So now, without further delay, here are the top 10 cancers that "feed themselves" using your own excess weight and obesity: uterus, gallbladder, kidney, cervix, thyroid, leukemia, liver, colon, ovarian and postmenopausal breast cancers.

Bottom line: Population-wide education about weight control and "maintenance" should start with a plant-based diet and end with a plant-based diet. The UK, the US and most developed countries need a total certified organic overhaul of all food (and medicine), and the cancer cases would disappear! Politicians need to step up to the plate and help make changes. "Forks over knives" should be a movie that every child has to watch on the first day of school. As for school lunches, don't even get me started.
