Irradiated and brainwashed: Japanese citizens somehow still support nuclear industry
by Jonathan Benson, staff writer
(NaturalNews) Virtually no one in the Japanese public supports nuclear energy production anymore, thanks to what many now agree was the worst nuclear disaster ever to occur in recorded history. But this hasn't stopped the Japanese government from continuing to propagandize the public in support of nuclear technology, even going so far as to indoctrinate young children into the lie that cancer is normal since many people get it these days.
These and other tools of propaganda are being used against the Japanese public in a thus far failed attempt to resurrect Japan's nuclear industry, which has all but stalled since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear facility was struck by a massive earthquake and tsunami back in 2011. A recent interview given by an associate professor at Hiroshima City University highlights how serious this propaganda campaign has become, despite the fact that radiation continues to pour into the air, land, and sea throughout Japan.
"There's virtually no public support for nuclear power, especially in the communities in which the plants are located," stated Dr. Robert Jacobs during a broadcast on ABC 90.3 FM, as quoted by ENENews. "The human impact is unfolding in more clear view than it did at first, so that's a very big and serious issue here."
Concerning the severity of the situation, Japanese correspondent and interpreter Umi Hagitani, speaking to KWMR 90.5 FM, added that survivors of the disaster are petitioning local and national governments to evacuate remaining individuals close to the damaged reactors. They are concerned that not enough is being done to protect the public from the ongoing spew of radiation, which has yet to subside.
"[T]heir statement demanded that the reduction [in] radioactive exposure is more urgent than the current federal policies and practices in Japan, which is to force people to remain in the contaminated area," said Hagitani. "Many students of the 5th and 6th grade in elementary school, they [are attending] something called a cancer seminar where they learn about how cancer is such a typical story for many people [that] they don't have to worry about it."
Forget the safety of children: let's pretend that Fukushima radiation doesn't exist! In other words, Japanese public schoolchildren are now the extended victims of the Fukushima disaster, having become targets of the Japanese government's lame attempt at minimizing the damage and moving forward with its nuclear energy programs through propaganda. This campaign is both deceptive and evil, and will likely result in thousands of further injuries and possible deaths from continued exposure to radioactive contamination.
"It seems that right now the [Prime Minister Shinzo Abe] cabinet has already schemed out a lot of brainwashing and making people feel that it's possible to decontaminate -- and [it's] making the suffering of the people invisible," added Hagitani. "I feel like that after [three] years, there are more cover-ups and silencing [of] survivors of this ongoing nuclear accident... and it's really well supported by the structural power hierarchy."
"[I]t's very scare to see this," he lamented.
Beyond this, children living in contaminated areas aren't even being told that they have the option to leave. Instead, the government body of Futuba County, which is the closest area to Fukushima that has not yet been mandatorily evacuated, is busy constructing a combined junior high and high school building that it plans to open in 2020. The plan suggests that officials have intentions not to ever evacuate the area but rather to continue day-to-day operations without interruption.
"People are very, very aware of [contamination in the food supply]," added Dr. Jacobs. "People are very anxious about it."
