Food is often taken for granted, viewed as just calories. People learn to trust whatever is put before them in the grocery store as they look to the vague, modern food label for answers. The hurry of modern day pushes the population on.
Very few people realize the direct impact that food has on the systems of the human body, such as the nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine, immune and digestive systems, among others. It's easy to just go by the basic Nutrition Facts food label glued on the back of a product which accounts for stereotypical content like carbohydrates, fat and protein. There's more to food than what can be seen, than what is labeled.

In the gastrointestinal tract, certain foods can help absorb or assimilate toxins, purifying the body. Other food may allow contaminants to penetrate the gut wall and infiltrate the blood.
