The best vitamins that aid in weight loss

by Sandeep Godiyal

(NaturalNews) Changing an unhealthy diet to a healthy, balanced diet is very important in weight loss. If a person does not change his diet and continues to avoid eating healthy foods, he will not be able to lose weight. Healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables contain vitamins and minerals that can help a person lose weight more quickly and effectively. According to Dr. Pamela W. Smith of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians, some vitamins and minerals are more crucial in weight loss than others.

Vitamin B, Choline, and Chromium are some of the vitamins that Dr. Smith recommends to people who are trying to lose weight.

Vitamin B

One of the best vitamins for weight loss is vitamin B. Vitamin B is a group of eleven vitamins that work together. Some of the B vitamins that aid in weight loss are B6 (pyridoxine), B5 (pantothenic acid), and B2 (riboflavin). Vitamin B6 helps the pancreas produce enzymes that aid in digestion. Proper digestion will make one feel full longer, thus resulting in weight loss. Vitamin B5 also aids in digestion and helps break down fat and carbohydrates, thus giving more energy and boosting one's metabolism, which also helps in weight loss. Vitamin B2 aids in weight loss by releasing the unused energy in the body and preventing unused energy from turning into fat. Some of the best sources of vitamin B are bananas, potatoes, whole grains, beans, lentils, and chili peppers.

Choline

Choline is another B vitamin that aids in weight loss. This nutrient is a fat emulsifier that works with the nutrient inositol. Choline and inositol use the cholesterol and fats in the body to prevent weight gain and promote weight loss. Without choline, the excess fats that are digested get trapped in the liver and block fat metabolism which leads to weight gain. Some of the foods that contain choline are peanuts, cucumber, cauliflower, wheat germ, egg yolks, beef heart, and beef liver. Foods that contain choline should be included in daily meals in order to get rid of the excess fats gained from eating fatty foods.

Chromium

Chromium is a trace mineral found in cereals and grains. It aids in weight loss by helping the body break down fats and carbohydrates. Chromium also provides an energy boost that is useful for workouts. Without chromium, the body finds it difficult to burn off excess fats and turn them into energy. As a result, the excess fats are stored in the body and the person gains weight.

Conclusion

The vitamins in this list are just some of the vitamins that Dr. Smith recommends for weight loss. There are many other vitamins and minerals that can also help people lose weight. If one is finding it difficult to lose weight, they should try including these vitamins in his diet. People can get these vitamins from foods or multivitamin supplements.
