Connecticut government to make Newtown cover-up official policy: Key evidence to be made secret from public

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) In a move that ought to outrage Connecticut citizens in general, but especially those of Newtown whose children and loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December, state officials up to the office of the prosecutor and governor have been working in secret with legislative leaders to hide records and documents related to the horrific crime.

According to CTNow.com, a Fox affiliate, staffers in Gov. Dannel "Dan" Malloy's office, along with other top state officials and lawmakers worked behind-the-scenes "to withhold records related to the police investigation into the Dec. 14 Newtown elementary school massacre - including victims' photos, tapes of 911 calls, and possibly more."

The effort was discovered in mid-May when the Hartford Courant newspaper obtained an email copy by Timothy J. Sugrue, a top staff member of Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane. The paper said Sugrue, an assistant state's attorney, discussed options being considered thus far in the email, including any release of statements "made by a minor" - a reference, no doubt, to the children who witnessed the shootings.

Why the secrecy?

"There is complete agreement regarding photos etc., and audio tapes, although the act may allow the disclosure of audio transcripts," Sugrue wrote in his email, which was sent to Kane, "two other Kane subordinates and to Danbury State's Attorney Stephen Sedensky, who is directing the investigation of the killings," said the paper.

In essence, the state General Assembly - if it votes to adopt this - will successfully block any and all attempts to ever find out what really happened that awful day in Newtown. And the very first question everyone ought to be asking, whether you're a resident of Connecticut or not, is why?

What are these officials trying to hide?

Also, it's important to note that this bill is not going through the normal legislative process: Being introduced by a lawmaker or group of lawmakers into their respective chamber; being referred to committee for consideration; given a public hearing; then, if passed out of committee, being sent to the chamber for debate and a vote. No.

It's being "negotiated" in secret.

The Courant reported May 21:

Sugrue's email Tuesday indicated that a draft of the bill was being worked on by leaders in both the House and Senate, and might be ready as soon as the end of the day. He wrote: "I just received a call from Natalie Wagner" - a member of the legal counsel's staff in the office of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

Writing further, Sugrue said Wagner "believes that draft language will be forthcoming today (the work of both houses) in the form of a special act. ..."

In an attempt to justify this outrageous attempt to shield evidence and information from the public, gubernatorial chief of staff Mark Ojakian said in a statement, "A lot of people, including our office, have heard the concerns expressed by the families of Newtown victims, and are exploring ways to respect the families' right to privacy while also respecting the public's right to information."

What happened in Sandy Hook has been questioned from the start due to the number of inconsistencies and other unresolved details surrounding the shooting.

Truth and journalism threatened

From the beginning, the mainstream media changed the narrative and the story. As noted by NaturalNews editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger:

As always, when violent shootings take place, honest journalists are forced to ask the question: "Does this fit the pattern of other staged shootings?"

According to multiple eyewitness reports from Aurora, Colorado, including at least one caught on camera by mainstream media news reports in Colorado, James Holmes did not operate alone. There was a second shooter involved. But the media quickly eliminated any mention of a second shooter from its coverage, resorting to the typical cover story of a "lone gunman."

Today, the exact same thing is happening with the Newton, CT school shooting.

And those who follow such incidents closely, you may remember as well that Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police threatened in December to file charges against any journalists who did not parrot the "official" line. Vance said then that any deviation from that official narrative "are crimes, they will be investigated, statewide and federally, and prosecution will take place when people perpetrating [information at odds with official versions] are identified." Now, it seems, Gov. Malloy and compliant legislators want to put the final nail in the truth coffin about what really happened at Sandy Hook. That is equally tragic.
