Five simple ways to avoid holiday weight gain this year

(NaturalNews) The indulgence of thanksgiving has come and gone. But that probably amounts to one major gathering and one big meal, perhaps with leftovers that soon become boring. Now comes the real challenge for eating healthy and not putting on extra pounds.
This is the season to be jolly, and indulge in all sorts of folly. Work place Christmas dinners and parties, club or church events, friends and family dinners, and all the party snacking and drinking that goes from now until shortly after the New Year's celebration.
(1) Maintain an exercise routine. If you don't have one, start it now. It's not that exercise burns off a lot of calories. Exercise helps speed up your metabolism rate to allow your food to be digested and utilized for energy more than be stored as fat.
The degree of rigorous exercise depends on what you're doing now. Whatever it is, step it up a notch and keep it going even if you ate too much the night before or you're nursing a hangover. If you can locate a sauna or steam room, use it after whatever level of exercise you do.
(2) Good fats aren't the main culprits for weight gain. Processed foods contain hydrogenated oils which can create fat. Sugar and especially HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) are worse. So are huge quantities of low nutrition, high calorie, refined carbs. You know, cookies, cakes, candies, etc.
So try to minimize your consumption of them by gabbing with others more than grubbing the goodies.
(3) Participate at a friend's or family member's dinner by bringing a healthy dish that you can share at a casual, social event. You'll look like a generous person even while others are attracted to the junk food being served, and you'll have some healthier food for yourself.
(4) Grab an occasional delicious treat and eat it slowly so you can really enjoy it. Then avoid eating more of whatever was so delightful for the rest of the event.
(5) This is extreme enough to use after the holidays if you've managed to mess yourself up enough during holiday binging.
A live presentation video by David Wolfe featured Dr. George Yu who explained how to detox by breaking apart the fats or lipids that trap toxins and prevent them from contaminating blood and organs.
He recommended taking massive doses of niacin (vitamin B3), not niacinamide. This procedure calls for a serious itchy, reddish flush, which usually occurs in the upper body and face. Dr. Yu recommended starting with enough to create the flush and increasing it daily within a range of 50 to 500 mg.
After you begin flushing and itching, the protocol calls for rebounding to both work up a sweat and pump out residual contamination from the lymph nodes. Other exercises can work also. The niacin will create lipolysis, which means breaking up fats or lipids.
But fats or lipids are pockets of protection, trapping toxins and keeping them away from organs. As the lipids burst, you need to ensure the toxins don't stick around or roam elsewhere thought the blood.
There are two organs through which the toxins can be eliminated: The skin and the GI (gastrointestinal) tract. If you managed to locate a sauna or steam room, you can eliminate the formerly fat trapped toxins through the skin.
