NSF provides seven action items through which you can help defend health and food freedom

(NaturalNews) Fighting back against the powers that continually try to eliminate our freedom to grow, buy, sell, and even eat the foods and herbs of our choice is a daunting task that can sometimes seem hopeless. But there have been many times when concerted "push back" efforts have been successful, and freedom has been preserved. 1. 2. The treacherous S 510 "Food Safety Bill," which morphed into HR 2751, was passed late last year by the "lame-duck" Congress. The bill, as most NaturalNews readers already know, is a serious threat to food freedom as it shifts significant power over the food supply from the People to the FDA and the biotechnology and agribusiness giants to which it panders, as well as international governing bodies trying to implement Codex Alimentarius (http://www.naturalnews.com/030863_food_safet...). 3. Another aspect of the tyrannical "food safety" bill is its infringement of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the US Constitution, which prohibit the federal government from asserting control over anything for which it has not been explicitly granted power (http://www.naturalnews.com/031122_Tenth_Amen...). This includes food safety bills that rip control of food away from the individual states and the People of those states, and hand it over to the Feds. Last fall, the FDA decided to unleash genetically-modified (GM) salmon into the world, despite massive outcry from both experts in the field and the public concerning safety issues involving the environment, animals, and humans (http://www.naturalnews.com/029770_salmon_gen...). 5. The safety of GMOs, despite endless chatter from the pro-GMO lobby, has never been proven. On the contrary, studies have shown that GMOs are harmful to health and to the environment, and actually create more of a reliance on toxic pesticides than non-GMOs (http://www.naturalnews.com/026426_GMO_food_G...). 6. When it comes to issues of food freedom and safety, many in Congress simply do not understand the issues, or are willfully ignorant about the importance of them. In 2009, Rep. 7. The more people that learn about the issues and continue to hammer their elected officials about them, the more effective efforts like these will be. It is precisely because most Americans have no clue about what their government is doing day in and day out to steal their freedoms -- or how to actually stop it from happening -- that the enemies of freedom incrementally dismantle the God-given freedoms that many of us enjoy and take for granted.
