Homeopathic Remedies Help Allergies and Hay Fever

by Melanie Grimes

(NaturalNews) Allergies affect one in four American and can be treated with homeopathy simply and inexpensively. Using homeopathic remedies to treat allergies and hay fever prevents the side effects of suppressive treatments like allergy medicines. Decongestants and expectorants only remove the symptoms; whereas, homeopathic remedies can get to the root of the disease and create a more permanent cure by increasing the vital force of the individual.

Research on Allergies and Homeopathy
German researchers have also shown that the remedy Galphima glauca reduced symptoms in over one thousand hay fever sufferers. The medical journal "Lancet" has published research on twelve homeopathic remedies and their use in treating hay fever. Remedies included in the study were Allium cepa, Arsenicum, Euphrasia, Pulsatilla, Nux vomica, and Dulcamara. Researchers also used the homeopathic remedy Betula, made from the birch tree, to treat birch allergies with positive results.

Homeopathic Allergy Medicines

Sabadilla
The person needing homeopathic Sabadilla for their allergies has a hay fever that begins when they inhale pollen from flowers. The interior of the nose becomes raw and dry, while the mucus flows profusely and is white. The symptoms are accompanied by much sneezing and the person is cold and feels chilled.

Allium Cepa
One of the common remedies used to treat allergies homeopathically is made from the red onion, producing the same symptoms in allergic response that a person experiences while peeling an onion: bland tears. Allium cepa is the remedy of choice when the tears flow copiously and are worse when exposed to damp air.

Euphrasia
Euphrasia is the homeopathic remedy of choice when the allergy symptoms are bland nasal discharge that is worse lying down. The person needing Euphrasia also can have stinging eye discharge that is irritating to the skin.

Nux vomica
Nux vomica is indicated to treat allergies in an irritated and impatient individual. This homeopathic allergy medicine treats allergies that are better outside. The person needing Nux feels chilled and sneezes frequently. The mucus flows well during the day but becomes clogged up at night.

Pulsatilla
The homeopathic remedy Pulsatilla fits a clingy person, or one who becomes clingy when they are ill. They prefer cold rooms or to be outside in fresh air. Their allergies are worse when they lie down in a warm room and they have no thirst.

Arsenicum alba
The Arsenicum alba person is always restless and anxious, along with his/her allergy and hay fever symptoms. The allergy symptoms are worse after midnight. They are very thirsty and chilly and experience asthmatic breathing with the allergic attack.
