Rasayanas: Learn Anti-Aging Secrets from the Mother of All Health Systems

by Paul Fassa

(NaturalNews) There is a plethora of anti-aging supplements that are newly derived and arrived for consumers online and in health food stores. They are not cheap, and the efficacy of each is questionable. What if you knew of anti-aging supplements that are more cost effective and have been proven for over a few thousand years?

Ayurveda, India's 5,000 year old system of health and medicine has their own version of time tested anti-aging supplements or foods. They are called rasayanas. According to Ayurvedic Dr. Vaidya Mishra, "Rasayana is the designation given to special herbs, fruits and spices, or combinations of them, that are particularly renowned for the positive influence they have on overall health, vitality and longevity".

Rasayanas Are Cost Effective and Safe

Ayruveda's 5000 year old tradition is based on food and herbs as the first medicine and key to health and vitality. Their cost effective efficacy without side effects has been creating more Ayurveda advocates in the modern western world lately. Clinics are popping up in several USA states.

Among rasayanas is ghee, which goes a step further than clarified butter. Ghee is very cost effective because you can make it yourself from unsalted organic butter. That complete recipe is in another recent Natural News article, "Ghee: Stove Top Super Food from Mother of All Health Systems".

The other two that will be covered here are not so easy to make yourself. They are triphila and chyawanprash. Triphila is dispensed in tablets or powder form as an herbal supplement product containing three herbs. Triphila is not expensive, and the small daily amount required ensures your order will last for longer than a month, often much longer.

Chyawanprash can be used as a jam. Compared to not so beneficial jams on the market, it can be a bit pricey depending on the source. But only two teaspoons a day is sufficient to receive real health benefits. Compared to a lot of anti-aging formulas that have flooded the market, chyawanprash is quite cheap.

Both triphila and chyawanprash are able to be consumed every day for as long as desired or needed. There is no addiction or side effect issues. Most Ayurvedic doctors agree that the longer one takes them, the deeper the effects are. Besides their anti-aging properties, the rasayanas have many positive effects on the digestive system.

In both Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, the digestive system is paramount. Poor digestion leads to disease in both of those systems. This is true even if a medical system does not recognize this. Poor digestion leads to waste that is not totally eliminated and creates toxins that overwhelm tissues and cells, leading to stagnation and poor health.

Some Triphila Details and Benefits

Triphila means three fruits, and for triphila they are bibhitaki, haritaki, and amalaki (aka amla or Indian gooseberry). The effect on digestion is noticed easily by westerners, especially regarding elimination. It is a mild bowel cleanser. That everyone seems to notice.

Triphila also energizes the digestive system to help one metabolize food better with less waste. What is not completely metabolized or eliminated turns into ama, the Ayurvedic term for mucous like waste in the body.

Ama or mucous not properly cleared from tissues and cells wind up clogging and smothering tissues and cells, leading to disease of all sorts. Taken daily over time, triphila also cleanses tissues of ama and other toxins on four different levels, including blood and fatty tissues.

Interestingly, most westerners who visit an Ayurvedic clinic are prescribed triphila as a staple with other herbs and a dietary plan. SAD, or the Standard American Diet, has compromised the digestive systems of almost all Americans, as well as other SAD eaters elsewhere in the world.

Part of triphila's efficacy has to do with the natural elements in its three ingredients, which have an intelligence of their own that interacts with the body's intelligence, according to Ayurveda. Modern research confirms this traditional knowledge of Triphala. Studies have shown that triphila maintains the integrity of DNA, a basic expression of the body's intelligence, even when DNA is exposed to mutagens and radiation.

That alone should encourage you to use safe and inexpensive triphila forever. We are constantly bombarded with EMF (Electro Magnetic Frequencies) radiation of different ranges from land line portable phones, cell phones, cell phone towers, WiFi Internet, high tension electric wiring and sub stations, as well as hidden genetically modified food substances or GMO's that also act as mutagens. All of these are capable of altering DNA!

Some Chyanwanprash Details and Benefits

Chyanwanprash is produced as jam or jelly. It contains ghee, honey, and several herbs in a base of amla or amalaki. Amla or amalaki is the highest source of Vitamin C known, and it is very high in antioxidants. The range of herbs involved in the amla is anywhere from 20 to 80, but it appears that just under 50 herbs is the norm for most consumer available products.

Chyanwanprash can be used by anyone with any condition. Some brands reportedly taste so good that eating just enough for efficacy and cost effectiveness is difficult! Daily consumption with two teaspoons of chyanwanprash promotes tissue rejuvenation, without which tissues decay and die.

It enhances memory and brain function as well as eyesight. It wards off premature symptoms of aging or revitalizes and reinvigorates the aged. It is also a good immune regulator, which means it adapts to boost the immune system when needed or slow it down when over reacting to prevent a cytokine storm that overwhelms the body.

And of course chayanwanprash stimulates digestion to ensure you assimilate the nutrients from the foods you eat as well as eliminate toxins accumulated from poor diet. Since a large part of the Ayurvedic protocol is a recommended proper organic, non-GMO diet based on your constitutional type (even if you eat some meat), it is a good idea to get help with determining your constitutional type based on your three doshas. Doshas are mind/body attributes that have to be in balance for perfect health.

No Ayurvedic doctors in sight? Then go here to fill out a dosha questionnaire: https://secure.doshabalance.com/balance/dosha_balance.html

Conclusion

All these rasayanas are like any other dietary and herbal approach. They have to be used on a daily basis for long term results. These are not magic bullets that totally heal all your health maladies in days. However, many people do experience noticeable results in a few weeks or less.

The addition of any or all of these three most commonly used rasayanas are well worth the minimal effort it takes to use them. Ghee is used instead of butter for eating, or oil for cooking; Chyanwanprash can also be spread on toast or pasty, organic whole grain of course, along with ghee.

Only triphila is taken as a supplement on an empty stomach. Using the powder mixed in water is cheaper if you don't mind a slightly yucky bitter taste. Tablets are the choice of the squeamish.

Caveat

If an Ayurvedic clinic is in your area, use it for your rasayana purchases even if it's several miles away. Insist on not using UPS Ground or FedEx Ground, NOT USPS for delivery, or pick it up yourself if you can. Otherwise, use the sources below this article for further information.

You must be careful to obtain these products only from herbal sources that are organic and who use shade drying and cold pressing of the herbs in the process. No chemical shortcuts.
Then ensure there will be no irradiation in the product's transit from wherever to you.

A source in India claims herbs from India are not irradiated coming into the USA or other locations if they are properly packaged. Herbs from India are the least expensive, but then there is that shipping cost.

Herbal sources using the USPS (U.S. Postal Service) domestically are putting their herbs at risk because there is a possibility that the USPS will irradiate the shipment. Sources who use either UPS Ground or FedEx Ground generally avoid irradiation through those carriers, which are not really expensive and provide tracking. Choose your Rasayanas and live long and healthy!
