Jay Robb launches The Fruit Flush 3-Day Detox Diet

Detoxifying the body is a huge business -- there are hundreds of books, supplements, and kits that make up the multi-million dollar industry. A new solution from Jay Robb, founder of the company best known for its protein products, promises a unique solution to whole-body detox. His new book, The Fruit Flush 3-Day Detox, presents an all-natural solution to flushing away toxins and tuning up the body's health.

A clinical nutritionist, Robb ( says that eating specific natural foods can literally wash away excess pounds and toxic debris in just three days. The key to staying healthy and trim for a lifetime, he explains, is allowing your body to detoxify by eating a well-balanced diet while performing periodic flushes with fresh, raw fruit.

Fruit is the key ingredient used in The Fruit Flush 3-Day Detox. Cleansing with fruit is a process high in fiber, water content, plant-based medicines and natural, slow-releasing sugars. The nutrients in fruit can help dissolve toxins and give the body energy. They also help detox the liver from the usual poisoning of dairy products, red meat and chemical food additives found in everyday American foods.

The three-day plan consists of an initial day of "pre-flushing" and two days of "fruit-flushing." My only skepticism about the book is its claim that you can, "Lose up to 9 pounds in 3 days!" This is only possible if you have 9 pounds of fecal matter stuck in your digestive tract that are flushed out by the fruit. It is not humanly possible to lose 9 pounds of actual body fat in 3 days unless you're dying of cancer or radiation poisoning. Jay Robb is well educated about nutrition, of course, and he knows all this. I imagine the "9 pounds in 3 days" claim is simply a marketing hook to get people to pay attention to this very helpful nutritional guide. Sadly, many consumers won't pay any attention to a diet guide that doesn't promise miraculous, overnight results, so strong claims appear to be necessary for nearly all diet books these days (even the good ones!). Nobody wants to hear the truth about weight loss: Lose a few ounces of body fat each day as long as you exercise, limit your calories and don't overeat!

Overall, I think the Fruit Flush Diet is an excellent guide for helping anyone cleanse their body (liver, intestines, kidneys and more) with great-tasting medicine from nature. We would all do well to follow a fruit-based cleanse from time to time, and Jay Robb's book shows us an easy way to make it happen. It's yet another notable contribution from a real pioneer in the nutrition industry, and someone I greatly trust and respect. I've known Jay Robb for several years now, and he always impresses me as a genuine, ethical and mission-oriented individual who has many important contributions to offer to the world. Final note: Do yourself a favor and flush with certified organic fruit. I know it's more expensive than conventional fruit, but if you're trying to get the chemicals OUT of your body during the flush, it makes no sense to put more chemicals IN your body by eating pesticides.
