Iowans work to promote alternative medicine in their state

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

The Iowa Health Freedom Coalition has been working at the state capitol to remove the restrictions placed on practitioners of alternative medicine.

Iowans will have easier access to alternative medical treatment if one group has their way. The Iowa Health Freedom Coalition lobbied at the capitol today to ease restrictions on alternative medicine providers. It would allow unlicensed practices to operate as long as they weren't hurting patients. Minnesota has passed a similar law and one massage therapist from our area says it's time Iowa does the same. "Under Iowa law, if someone is saying yes, I can help you with your depression for example, since depression is diagnosable, with those essential oils or energy work, rackie, under the law they can be prosectued," Lisa Stokke, a Clear Lake massage therapist said. A Native American group is supporting the organization. The bill would no longer restrict certain Native American ceremonies to being performed only on reservation land.
