Yoga expert argues that India should integrate yoga classes into the education system

At the 13th International Yoga Festival in Pondicherry, Divine Life Yoga Society founder-director Yograj C. Poovendran made an argument that yoga should be a compulsory part of India's school curriculum.
Pondicherry, Jan 6: Yoga should be made a compulsory subject in schools as it could help students develop full concentration and improve their physical and mental fitness, Divine Life Yoga Society founder-director Yograj C Poovendran said today.
He was speaking to reporters at the 13th International Yoga Festival which began here yesterday.
A four-member team of foreigners from China and Japan, participating in the festival, referred to the positive impact yoga has had on their lives.
Yoga practitioners including boys and girls from different parts of the country are taking part in the festival, which concludes tomorrow.
