mation unveiled its latest idea for carrying data using flash storage, announcing the availability of the new Imation Flash Wristband.
The wristband is capable of holding 256 MB of data and has a rubber molding shell and friction fit locking band.
To access the data you simply unplug the wristband (from itself) and plug it into a USB port (computers running Win98 and above, MacOS 8.6 and above, and Linux 2.4.2 and above are supported).
The Imation Flash Wristband will retail for US$34.99 and will be available in black and blue colors at Target stores in the U.S.
The idea of carrying flash data in a wristband comes at a good time.
It's not uncommon for people to wear rubber-molded wristbands nowadays--if there is a cause then there's probably a wristband someone can wear to show his or her support.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see charity-themed versions of the Imation Flash Wristband if it becomes popular.
