Ovarian cancer can produce symptoms akin to irritable bowel syndrome
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Maureen's Medical Moment focuses on the similarity between symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and ovarian cancer, the latter often misdiagnosed.
Ovarian cancer is called the silent killer because it's often not found until it's too late.
It was around the holidays of 2000 that Cindy Kuszewski went to her doctor for an annual exam, and everything checked out okay.
However, the next few months turned into a downward spiral.
Cindy lost her energy and developed shooting pains in her abdomen.
One doctor diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel syndrome and ordered a colonoscopy, but no follow up was planned.
Then, exhausted and in pain, Cindy went to the ER, where doctors finally found stage 4, late stage, ovarian cancer.
Numerous surgeries, 24 rounds of chemotherapy, and five years later, Cindy is alive, and on a mission.
She wants women to know about ovarian cancer, the CA 125 test to check for ovarian cancer and one other key diagnosis.
"If you're ever diagnosed with IBS, cut to the chase.
You don't want to lose time because you could end up with an advanced diagnosis of ovarian cancer," says Cindy.
Some symptoms are bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, and urinary frequency.
