HP to offer nine HDTVs in 2006

The new line of televisions will include the 37-inch HP Advanced Digital Media LCD Television, which features wired and wireless home network connectivity and allows owners to view online slideshows.
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced this week that sales of digital television (DTV) will continue to drive CE industry sales to new highs in 2006 and forecasted that over 18 million digital televisions will be sold in North America in 2006.
HP announced this week that it would be offering nine HDTV's for sale this year: 3 LCD HDTV televisions, including a model that can connect to a home network and directly to the Internet; 2 Plasmas; and 4 digital light processing (DLP) sets.
The 37-inch HP Advanced Digital Media LCD Television (shown above) is at the leading edge of a new generation of TVs from HP that have a built-in digital media receiver.
The television features wired and wireless home network connectivity so digital content stored on your PC can can be enjoyed in the living room.
HP's Advanced Digital Media Television also lets owners view online slideshows or home movies using Snapfish, HP's online photo service, or listen to music with Real Networks' Rhapsody music service.
The new line of LCD HDTVs also includes the 37-inch LC3760N and 32-inch LC3260N, which feature HP's Visual Fidelity technologies; a 176-degree viewing angle; dynamic contrast ratio of 6,000:1; and a 6ms refresh rate.
Motion Adaptive Noise Reduction, Photorealistic Sharpness Enhancement and 3D Color Enrichment help to minimize visual noise and provide sharp, vibrant color.
