Kenneth Lay blames Enron's finance officer for fraud scandal
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Kenneth Lay, former chairman of Enron, lays the blame for his company's downfall squarely on the shoulders of Andrew Fastow, the company's finance officer, who is expected to testify for the prosecution at Lay's upcoming trial.
Former Enron chairman Kenneth Lay has blamed his finance officer Andrew Fastow entirely for the fraud that brought down the energy giant in 2001.
Speaking at a business lunch in Houston just a month before his own trial, Lay said his trust in Fastow was entirely misplaced and that he bitterly regretted it.
Lay faces seven conspiracy and fraud charges concerning the collapse of the company with multibillion-dollar debts, but has always protested his innocence.
Fastow pleaded guilty to similar criminal charges last year and is expected to testify against Lay at his trial.
