Google introduces mobile version of Gmail service
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Gmail's mobile version allows users to read email and view attachments from their cell phones. The mobile Gmail is only currently available in English to U.S. cell phone users.
Google has introduced a "mobile version" of its Gmail service, which allows mobile phone subscribers quick access to their e-mail.
As of now, the new service supports only a limited number of mobile phones; additional models will be certified eventually.
The mobile offering is also limited to the English language, with other languages to follow suit.
Google's "mobile Gmail" is a somewhat lesser version of further advanced mobile phones offering an Internet browser.
With Gmail's mobile version, users can read e-mail plus view attachments from their mobile phones; and reply-by-call to people whose phone numbers are stored in their Gmail account.
The Gmail messages are geared to automatically synchronize between customers' mobile phones and computer accounts, regardless of whether Gmail is being accessed from Gmail Mobile or the Web.
Currently "mobile Gmail" is available to US cellphone users only.
Recently Google added virus-scanning to its Gmail service; but the move attracted a lot of criticism from consumers.
