Companies market whole-grain white bread to health-minded consumers

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

The Good Housekeeping Institute has been plugging Wonder White Bread and Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Whole Grain White, both white breads that contain a healthy dose of whole grains.

The new food pyramid recommends that you eat even more servings of whole grains every day -- and that may seem like unpleasant news to white-bread lovers. But the Good Housekeeping Institute has found two new whole-grain white breads that taste delicious. Wonder White Bread Fans 100-percent Whole Grain is actually 100 percent whole grain. Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Whole Grain White uses one-third whole grain flour and has a little less fiber. In a Good Housekeeping Institute test, nine out of 10 kids preferred Sara Lee's to the Wonder White Bread. But a group of adults was more evenly divided.
