by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

In Edinburgh, The Royal College of Physicians met with members from the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) to discuss improvements in the treatment of osteoporosis patients.

PLANS to improve the treatment of osteoporosis patients were discussed at a dinner at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. MSPs and members of the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) heard about the latest developments in the world of the fragile bone disease from some of the country's leading clinicians. Among the speakers was Professor Stuart Ralston from the University of Edinburgh's department of molecular and clinical medicine. MSPs also took the chance to talk to NOS members and hear their personal experiences of living with osteoporosis, a disease which can lead to painful and debilitating fractures. Anne Simpson, NOS development manager for Scotland, said: "This dinner gives us a great opportunity to gather MSPs and osteoporosis experts. "It helps to improve their knowledge about the disease and of what's happening on the ground, enabling them to ask really probing questions of the Scottish Executive. "The dinner also offers us the opportunity to say thank you to all the support group volunteers, clinicians and MSPs."
