Chicago media mogul responds to allegations of fraud leveled against him

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Conrad Black, former director of Hollinger, the Chicago-based publishing company, claims that he will be found innocent of charges of fraud made against him by employees of the company.

Deriding U.S. fraud charges against him as ''one massive smear job from A to Z,'' a feisty Conrad Black vowed Thursday he would be vindicated of accusations that he pocketed millions of dollars of money from Hollinger International. Black brushed aside questions when asked whether he fears a current climate in which disgraced former WorldCom CEO Bernard Ebbers was sent to jail, saying such high-profile convictions, in his eyes, are far from comparable. ''There was a colossal bankruptcy, 50,000 people lost their jobs, tens of billions of dollars were lost and there was a $4-billion accounting fraud.'' Ebbers was sentenced to 25 years in prison last July for an accounting scandal worth $11 billion US that led to bankruptcy for the telecom giant.
