RIM unveils BlackBerry handheld with Intel processor

RIM is the first customer for the PXA901 processor from Intel. The 8700c phone has 64 MB of flash memory, 16 MB of SRAM, a high-resolution screen and a Qwerty keyboard.



Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled its latest BlackBerry handheld, designed to operate on high-speed wireless networks. The new portable features Intel's latest mobile processor. The BlackBerry 8700c is being sold by Cingular for use on the carrier's high-speed EDGE network. The device provides push-e-mail capability along with phone, Web browsing, and enterprise data applications.
