British dairy company releases new omega-3 spread

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

UK company Dairy Crest announces the release of St. Ivel Gold Omega 3, the only spread on the market that can boast the long-chain variety of omega-3.

Long chain Omega 3 is derived from fish oils and has been widely accredited as being around 10 times more effective than the short chain form contained in many existing health spreads. St Ivel said that abundant quantities of the short chain variety are already available in most peoples' diets, whereas the long chain form is not as widespread. Commenting on the rollout, Richard Tolley, St Ivel marketing Director, said, "The launch of St Ivel Gold Omega 3, which will be supported by a GBP4 million marketing campaign, will further establish the brand's presence in the butters and spreads health arena." "The launch coincides with wider packaging changes which have recently been implemented across the entire St Ivel Gold range increasing the brand's presence, contemporizing the range and continuing to add value across the category," Mr Tolley continued. St Ivel Gold Omega 3 is also low in fat and low in saturated fat, is trans fat free and contains vitamins A, D, E and B12. The spread will arrive in stores across the UK from January 2006.
