New list of nutritional supplements promises to boost public health

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Natural Health has released a new list of widely-approved supplements that can benefit the health of most people, including selenium, chaste tree berry and cordyceps.

A new report in Natural Health lists five lesser known supplements that might be worth considering for certain mild to moderate health problems. To compile this list, editors at Natural Health consulted several holistic medicine experts for supplements many practitioners often recommend to their patients, but do not get a lot of press. Several studies show it may help boost immunity and fight certain types of cancer. It helps balance hormones to curb PMS and or menopausal symptoms. Natural medicine specialist Jenny Krebs said, "[Chaste tree berry] doesn't have direct hormonal effect, it does take a little longer to work because of that, so you have to take it regularly." It's generally taken under a doctors care to reduce cholesterol. Krebs said, "The reason they call it no flush niacin is it doesn't give you that flush feeling that'll make your cheeks all rosy." The HTP is hydroxytryptophan, which help boost your moods. The body uses HTP to make serotonin, an important substance for brain function. It's a rare mushroom used as an ancient Chinese remedy to lift libido and reduce fatigue. Most of the supplements range in cost from $2 to $20. They can be purchased at most supermarkets or pharmacies. These supplements are not a substitute for prescription medications and it's always wise to check with your health care provider before taking them to make sure they are appropriate for you.
