Whooping cough cases prompt Texas officials to issue warnings
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
An NBC news affiliate in Austin warns about whooping cough, including symptoms and the steps you should take in the event of infection, including vaccination.
If you or your child comes down with a bad cough, doctors urge you not to let it go untreated.
Local health officials say that whooping cough is on the rise in Williamson County.
Also known as pertusiss, reported cases of the respiratory illness are up more than 500 percent compared to last year.
It's very contagious and lasts for weeks if untreated.
Whooping cough can cause death among infants.
In fact, five have died in Texas this year.
However, there is a vaccine for children, and most doctors require it for children under 6 years old.
