E. coli outbreak traced to petting zoo at Big Fresno Fair
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
The Big Fresno Fair is the suspected source of a recent E. coli outbreak in six children, who all visited the same petting zoo.
It was the most popular Valley attraction this year.
Now, the Big Fresno Fair may be at the center of an E. coli outbreak.
More than 540,000 people visited the Big Fresno Fair in October.
Health officials are now looking into whether six children may have contracted the E. coli virus at the fair's petting zoo.
The Fresno County Department of Health has confirmed they are investigating six new cases of E. coli in children --- all of the kids visited the Big Fresno Fair and the Great American Petting Zoo.
Since the investigation is continuing, the health department cannot reveal specific details.
One of the children with E. coli is the daughter of former KMPH news anchor John Malos.
His daughter also visited the petting zoo and has been hospitalized at Children's Hospital for three weeks.
Last week, she was in intensive care.
Big Fresno Fair CEO John Alkire says they do everything they can to ensure kids are safe at the petting zoo --- signs and wash stations at the zoo remind visitors to wash hands both in English and Spanish.
