Bush needs to concentrate on alternative energy rather than drilling for oil, according to one writer
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
According to one concerned citizen in Centralia, IL, the current Republican agenda of drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is counterproductive. Instead of attempting to cut oil prices by getting more oil, the country should be concentrating on building its alternative energy infrastructure. The solutions available in solar, wind, and hydrogen power are not going to run out like oil, and they will not destroy an ecosystem as drilling for oil in the ANWR would do.
I've also heard Sean Hannity say in his book "Let Freedom Ring" that there is enough oil in ANWR to last us for three decades.
To me, three decades sounds hardly sufficient enough to end our dependence on foreign oil.
Not only that, to me, Republicans seem to think that the only way we can get out of this gas rate mess is to drill our way out.
Instead, I think I have a better solution.
Why don't we end our dependence on oil altogether?
I'm sure you're probably thinking that Bush has repeatedly said that his administration is funding the exploration of a hydrogen powered automobile.
That may be true, but I have also heard him time and again say that we need to drill in ANWR.
Drilling in ANWR will majorly alter the ecosystem in that region of our country.
Not to mention, it would greatly hurt the wildlife that thrive in that area, such as the polar bears and caribou.
Why do Republicans feel that the only way we can lower these gas rates, and end our dependence on foreign oil, is to drill our way out?
Instead, I feel we need to explore alternative sources of energy, such as solar power, wind power, electric power, etc.
Not only would using these sources of energy be less costly to the consumer, our environment would thank us for the reduced amount of pollution we would put into the atmosphere.
