by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Start Healthy, Stay Healthy, the Gerber consumer-education program, was promoted at the 9th Annual American Baby Faire, where parents were given the latest information on child nutrition.
The 9th Annual American Baby Faire, being held Friday and Saturday at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, will introduce expectant parents and young families to more than 100 exhibits showcasing the latest in child care, parenting information and services; the newest products for infants and toddlers, exciting interactive children's exhibits and free products samples.
During the show, registered dietitian Carol Savage will discuss Start Healthy, Stay Healthy, the Gerber consumer-education program in collaboration with American Dietetic Association.
This campaign is reaching out to parents and healthcare professionals with a positive message: children who are introduced to a wide variety of healthy foods at a young age will continue to choose good healthy foods as they grow.
It's an effort to combat obesity in Children; it's estimated that 13% of children aged 6 to 11 are overweight.
However, Savage says children who are introduced to a wide variety of healthy foods at a young age-beginning will continue to choose healthy foods as they grow: # Teach your baby good food habits now, for the rest of their life lifelong eating habits are formed in the first two years # Food preferences do not change significantly from ages 2-3, when they are forming, to age 8 when children are choosing their own food.
