Almond orchard supervisor brought up on felony charges for improper pesticide use

The co-owner and manager of Golden West Nuts in Oakdale, Calif., recently had felony charges filed against him by an employee who was exposed to pesticides after the manager forced him to continue working with a ruptured hose.
Felony charges have been filed against the co-owner and manager of an Oakdale, California nut company after a hose ruptured and sprayed an almond orchard worker with pesticide causing life-threatening injuries.
According to the state Department of Pesticide Regulation, the two men are the first employees of a California company in more than a decade to face criminal charges from improper use of pesticides.
According to the Associated Press, the worker told investigartors he was sprayed in March 2004 when a brittle hose broke for the second time in two days at Golden West Nuts.
The company's supervisor ordered the worker to patch the hose and continue spraying say investigators.
