Health experts recommend foods that can lower cholesterol
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
The Mayo Clinic offers its list of five cholesterol-lowering foods, including soy, fatty fish and oatmeal.
Do you know the foods that can help you lower your cholesterol?
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic say five types of food can do the trick.
The five are soy, fatty fish (like salmon and tuna), oatmeal, nuts (especially walnuts), and plant sterols, RTV6's Stacia Matthews reported Tuesday.
Plant sterols, which help block the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines, is found in fortified margarine.
"It's a chemical they put into butter or margarine," said Clarian Health's Jeannie Smith.
