New York City donor spreads West Nile Virus

A recent liver transplant proved deadly when the recipient contracted West Nile virus from a New York organ donor.
Three transplant patients contracted the West Nile virus from organs they received from a New York City donor last month in what health officials said yesterday was the first such U.S. case directly connected to a mosquito bite.
The only other confirmed case of West Nile virus transmission by transplantation was in 2002, when four organ recipients were infected after the donor received a blood transfusion the day before the donations, New York City health officials said.
He had lived near a park where West Nile virus had been detected in mosquitoes.
A New York patient who received his liver became ill with a West Nile infection and fell into a coma, as did a Pennsylvania lung recipient.
The city and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta are investigating.
and David Pinkerton were indicted on federal charges under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
The indictment said Kozeny, 42, an Irish citizen of Czech background, was president and chairman of Oily Rock Group Limited and Minaret Group Limited when he and the two other men --- both U.S. citizens --- tried to buy off senior Azerbaijan officials.
Bourke, 59, of Greenwich, Conn., was an investor with Kozeny.
Police had been searching for the Bolivian-born woman since Sept. 25, when her daughter, Valery Belen Saavedra Lozada, 4, was found wandering in the middle of the night in Queens.
Lozada-Rivadineira's companion, Cesar Ascarrunz, is being held without bail on charges of strangling her, dumping her body and abandoning her daughter on the street.
