Japanese scientists have found stem cells in human heart tissue, which is an important discovery for heart disease treatment.

An article in the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri reports, the discovery will introduce opportunity for the treatment of advanced heart diseases which will reduce the need for heart transplants.
A research team from Kyoto University under the leadership of Hiroaki Matsubara conducted the studies paving the way for the discovery of stem cells in human heart tissue.
Fifty heart disease patients volunteered for the studies and provided their heart tissue, muscles, blood cells and neuron samples, from which the scientists have managed to generate stem cell cultures.
