Online sperm banks to be regulated

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Under proposed new regulations, online sperm banks may have to screen donors.

The review of the 15-year-old legislation will ask whether the sperm Web sites should be banned altogether or just more tightly regulated. The companies running the sperm sites do not come under the existing regulation because they run donor databases rather than clinics. This also means the companies are not required to screen donors for genetic problems or sexually transmitted infections, raising safety concerns for women using the Web site services.
