Healthy food in schools boosts good behavior
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
An added benefit of the move to get healthier food into schools is that children who eat right tend to behave better and be more focused in class.
In an extraordinary domino effect of the experiment aimed at providing nutritious meals, British teachers say pupils are concentrating more on their lessons and squabbling less in the playground.
After eating a healthy lunch, instead of crisps or chips, children are apparently returning to afternoon lessons ready to learn.
The provision of canteens in Irish secondary schools is by no means uniform.
But in the wake of the Oliver campaign, there is now a compelling case for parents to give their children healthy meals rather than sugary and processed foods which invariably reduce concentration levels.
In the interests of pupil welfare, Education Minister Mary Hanafin should ensure every school has a good quality canteen.
