Tips to reduce your stress levels
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Simple time management techniques can significantly reduce your stress levels.
Before employee Richard Case became better at time management, he really thought that if he worked hard enough, without distractions, he could complete an entire week's worth of work in one eight-hour day.
Even with all the high-tech gadgets promising to keep us accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week --- plus office assistants, assistants to the office assistants, and the nanny at home --- there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get all the work done.
Some experts suggest it's the small decisions we make regarding a situation that can add to our stress level at work.
According to Jeff Davidson, author of The Complete Idiot's Guide To Managing Your Time, making the decision to search for a phone number or a piece of paper for an hour knowing you've got five other things to do within a two-hour deadline only adds to your stress.
"The guidebook offers a solid framework for taking charge of your time by offering practical, common-sensical, fresh approaches for seizing control of stressful situations," says Davidson.
This keeps me on the ball because it makes me fully accountable for the tasks I sign up for.
I can't and won't say 'Yes' to every last-minute request at work," says Case.
Sandra Das Gupta has also flipped through some of the pages of the guide and now uses her file folder system at work to help keep her stress level in check.
It's impossible to be perfect and it's in the search for perfection that stress thrives.
For Baptiste, completing a task at work is not as much about perfection as it is about completing the task the way it needs to be done at that moment.
