by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
The Bush administration told 28 states Monday it plans to order specific pollution cuts from their power plants, if state officials don't have their own plan by fall of next year for making the air cleaner for people downwind.
Fairmont-based M-V-B Financial has signed a purchase agreement to buy the Charles Town branch office of Susquehanna Bancshares.
Terms of the sales were not disclosed.
As of May 31st, the Susquehanna branch had nearly 17 million dollars in deposits.
The acquisition gives M-V-B four branches in Jefferson, Harrison and Marion counties and assets of more than 136 million dollars.
The sale allows M-V-B to expand into one of the fastest growing counties in the state because of its proximity to Washington, DC.
M-V-B President and C-E-O James Martin says the bank is committed to growing in the Eastern Panhandle.
The company recently hired two veteran bankers, who are already working from loan production offices in Charles Town and in Martinsburg.
The sale is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2005.
