Green tea can be found in more places than the tea kettle

There are many ways to get healthy green tea without drinking it hot, and one of the latest is Steaz, a fizzy green tea drink that is the first soda in the United States to be certified organic.
It's Steaz, green tea made to look, feel and taste like soda.
The first soda to be called certified organic in the United States, Steaz ("soda with soul") is brewed first as green tea, each bottle containing one whole cup of the stuff.
When I come home, I can brew a cup of nice hot green tea (less caffeine than coffee), or for me, stick a Celestial Seasonings green tea pod into my schmancy Keurig brewer.
Green tea has been around for thousands of years, but suddenly, thanks to the expert American marketing machine it's all around us in more forms than the Japanese ever dreamed of.
They don't eat as much fast food as we do, for one, but they also drink red wine, which contains resveratrol, which can limit the bad effects of smoking and eating fatty foods.
Now the Japanese have even lower heart disease rates (even though even more of them smoke) and that may be because of green tea.
It contains (deep breath) epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant twice as powerful as resveratrol.
I always associate antioxidants with helping to slow aging, I'm always downing stuff with antioxidants in them in the hope that my wrinkles won't pop up as quickly, but they also counteract damage to other cells by those "free radical" oxygen molecules.
Black teas contribute to the good health effects, but green teas do it so much better.
Since Americans seem to have a short attention span for the same old foods (and the marketers know that and maybe even created it) there's no shortage of ways you can enjoy green tea without having to sip it hot, but I'd much rather get my four cups of tea freshly brewed in a nice ceramic pot.
