Decks of cards give exercise tips

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Specialty card decks feature exercises on each card, with a deck devoted to strength training and toning, a deck for walking exercises and a chakra deck, with exercises to help connect physical and spiritual health.

Is fitness in the cards for you? It could be, with one of these three handy decks. Each one includes 50 cards with various exercises, explanations and information about their subjects. If strength training is something you've never gotten around to doing, these cards might be just what you need. If you don't know your gluteus from your latissimus dorsi, the deck has a card that maps out where different muscle groups are located. The deck also includes a pamphlet with weight-training tips and guidelines, such as workout frequency (for optimal results, train your total body three times a week) and order of exercises (it's best to train your largest muscle groups before smaller ones). The Chakra Deck combines physical health with spiritual well-being. The first two cards give basic information about the chakras and explain how to identify their imbalances. The next four cards contain breathing exercises and three yoga poses, such as pelvic rotations and body drops. If you don't want gasping for breath to be part of your workout regime, you might want to walk your way toward fitness. These cards make it easier to work walking into your daily routine, while providing information about form and technique, such as stride length and food placement. You'll also learn how to monitor the intensity of your walk, and which toning exercises and stretches to perform before and after you exercise. The last 12 cards in the series are devoted to specialty walks. The beach walk and the winter walk aren't terribly useful in the Valley, but other ones, such as the water walk (designed to be done in the swimming pool), the mall walk and the dog walk, are much easier to incorporate into an exercise regime.
