Archos updates XS 200 MP3 player Archos announced yesterday they were updating one of their smaller MP3 players. The Gmini XS 200 has been replaced by the new XS 202, which is priced at $249.95 and available now. It has a blue-scale, 2" LCD screen which is protected by a metallic cover. Its 20GB hard drive stores up to 10,000 MP3s, WMAs (included protected) or WAVs. It is compatible with Microsoft's PlaysForSure program, meaning it can download and play certain types of copyrighted music. Other interesting features of the XS 202 include the ability to rename, move, copy or delete files and make playlists on the player, an icon based graphical user interface, up to 17 hours of battery life and support of USB 2.0 for high speed file transfers and storing data files. "The Gmini XS 202 is an enhancement to our Gmini line of portable audio players, offering an exciting new blue screen and integration with Microsoft PlaysForSure music download programs and Windows Media Audio protected files," said Henri Crohas, ARCHOS chief executive officer. "The Gmini XS 202 is undoubtedly one of the most competitive audio players in the 20 gigabyte market and is the smallest of its kind at that capacity."
