Both trans-fats and saturated fats are known to raise bad cholesterol and increase risk of heart disease, but it appears that trans-fats also lower good cholesterol. The book is sub-titled �oeThe no-fad, no-nonsense approach to eating well and reaching your healthy weight.� For example, many people believe mayonnaise is an unhealthy food choice because it is made from eggs, but the medical nutritionist considers moderate amounts of the condiment a wholesome addition to most diets. Mayonnaise contains a blend of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, as well as omega-3 (ALA) and omega-6 (LA) essential oils.
