An ex-convict doctor who pleaded guilty to a state charge for bilking insurance companies now faces a federal charge after being accused of defrauding Medicaid. Dr. Thomas Hoshour operated a string of detoxification treatment centers in central Indiana under the business name Sober Life Alternatives. A U.S. Attorney says the doctor was charged with health care fraud today following an investigation by the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services.
