TalkTalk company tries to bypass competition by offering free phone calls to businesses

According to the Scotsman, British mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse has extended its TalkTalk program to allow a range of free calls for small businesses as it did with residential customers.
The mobile phone retailer is to extend its TalkTalk service to the business sector, offering a range of free calls to small businesses as it did with residential customers.
The news comes on the day that BT launched "BT Fusion" - what is claimed to be the world's first combined fixed and mobile phone service.
In a battle to halt a tide of calls moving from land-line to mobile networks, BT Fusion will work like a mobile phone when you are out and about, but switch automatically onto a BT broadband line when you get home.
Carphone Warehouse chief executive Charles Dunstone said the company had become the number one alternative to BT, with more than 920,000 UK subscribers.
The company said that for a typical business spending less than 250 a month on its call charges and line rental, TalkTalk Business would offer savings of up to 15 per cent compared with BT's standard Business Plan rates.
BT Fusion is made possible by a special access point installed in the home - called the BT Hub - which uses Bluetooth wireless technology to switch the BT Fusion handset seamlessly to the broadband line, even in mid-call.
The BT hub also works as a wireless router, allowing the user to connect up PCs, laptops, games consoles and printers wirelessly around the home.
Ian Livingston, head of BT Retail, said BT was living up to its promise to launch the world's first seamless combined fixed and mobile service.
He said: "For the first time customers will be able to get the best of both worlds in one service - combining the convenience and features of a mobile with fixed line prices and quality.
