Japanese company RWC is releasing two versions of its Arex Zero small form factor MP3/WMA player with EL display, one with 512MB of built-in memory and another with 1GB.
RWC (Japan) will release its new small form factor MP3/WMA player with EL display, the Arex Zero, on June 25th.
Two versions will be available, one with 512MB of built-in memory and another with 1GB of built-in memory.
Both players are currently listed as open price.
The Arex Zero is quite a small MP3 player, only weighing in at 32 grams and with dimensions of 58x28x18mm.
Despite its small size, the built-in display is a two-color display.
It's powered by one AAA battery which provides about 10 hours of playback time.
The resolution of the display is 128x64 pixels.
It supports display in Japanese, English and Chinese, and also supports ID3 tag information in Japanese as well as displaying lyric data.
With the newly invented, built-in OSD TI display, it makes the visual display of the player functions easier to discern.
The Arex Zero can play back both MP3 and WMA format audio files, and supports WMA DRM.
The bit rate for MP3 files is 8~320kbps and for WMA files is 48~192kbps.
There's also a built-in mic, and the Arex Zero supports voice recording in both MP3 and WMA formats.
The Arex Zero has a USB 2.0 interface and supports direct encoding of MP3 and WAV files.
It's compatible with Microsoft Windows ME/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.1~9.2.2/10.1 and above.
A five band preset equalizer is also built-in as well as a resume function and preinstalled screen saver.
