Business Wire recently covered the release of Toshiba's new Qosmio F25-AV205, a "Four-in-One" audio visual notebook with increased hard drive capacity, more memory, a better graphics card and a DVD double layer drive that doubles the capacity of DVD+Rs.
Scheduled to be available in July 2005 with an estimated single unit price of $1,999(1), the Qosmio F25-AV205 offers consumers a 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite(TM) display, Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Media Center Edition 2005 and integrated TV tuner, digital video recorder (DVR), read/write DVD/CD player, virtual surround-sound stereo and all the capabilities of a powerful, full-featured notebook PC.
"Movies, music, television, gaming, Internet and personal computing converge in a portable device for the entire family."
The F25-AV205 features the QosmioPlayer, allowing users to watch TV, DVDs or listen to CDs with a quick touch of a button on the unit or the remote control without booting up the Windows operating system.
With this feature, Qosmio owners can enjoy audio or video content within seconds just as if they were using a stand-alone TV, stereo or DVD player.
With its 5-in-1 bridge media adapter, Qosmio users can access and share photo and video content quickly.
Also a powerful computing tool, the Qosmio F25-AV205 features Intel(R) Centrino(TM) Mobile Technology with an Intel Pentium M processor(6) 750 and Intel PRO/Wireless(7) (802.11b/g), providing outstanding mobile performance and easy connectivity to the Internet at home or on the road at wireless hotspots.
Toshiba accessories for the Qosmio F25-AV205 include the Multimedia Center Audio/USB Hub that allows consumers to easily connect their notebook computers to their home entertainment systems, Toshiba keyboard protector, which helps to protect against crumbs and spills, and Toshiba high-capacity 12-cell Lithium Ion battery pack.
The Qosmio F25-AV205 will be available from ToshibaDirect (www.toshibadirect.com) and major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide.
