Use of the word "terrorist" relied on by law enforcement authorities to silence anyone they want

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

The power-groping success of the word "terrorism" has been so immense that lawmakers can't help applying it to other groups or individuals they'd like to silence. From a law enforcement perspective, if you can get the "terrorist" label to stick, you can crucify virtually anyone, regardless of whether they're engaged in bonafide terrorism activities.

One such effort underway is to label animal rights protestors as terrorists. That's right: banner-waving pet lovers would be designated "terrorists" under a New York law now being hotly debated. We all know what that means, too: imprisonment in a "military compound," with no charges being filed against you whatsoever, no access to an attorney, and with no obligation on the part of the United States to release you at any particular time.

In other words, you're no more free than peasants living under a cruel King in the 16th century. If the King wants you locked away for speaking your mind, he calls you a traitor and locks you in a dungeon below the keep. Many law enforcement officials in the United States think that's a great system. It might even be called the, "King George Justice System."

More than fur would fly when animal rights activists and, perhaps, environmental groups mount protests in New York, under a new law proposed by an upstate legislator: Protesters would be considered "terrorists." Opponents of the bill point out that much of the wording of bill A4884 (and a companion bill in the state senate) was lifted directly from language created by the American Legislative Exchange Council, an influential conservative D.C. lobby. Additionally, the bill calls for the creation of a state-run website where people convicted of "eco-terrorism or animal-rights terrorism" would be identified with photographs and stigmatized, much as states do with child molesters. Cheney told the gathering of more than 2,000 legislators and others, "We will not wait in false comfort while terrorists plot against innocent Americans."
