Study demonstrates link between healthcare use, workplace productivity and health levels

According to Medical News Today, Emory sociologist Corey Keyes feels that there is a link between the effects of healthcare use and workplace productivity and that medical professionals should focus more on disease prevention through physical and mental health than curing patients who are already "broken."
This state of "incomplete" health has resulted in a loss of productivity in the workforce, and potentially increases health care costs in the long term, according to a new Emory University study published in the May issue of the Journal of Environmental and Occupational Health.
