Veterinarian recommends homeopathic approach to dog's skin problem

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

A reader of the Clarke Times-Courier asked the advice column what they should do about their dog's skin illness since traditional methods have failed, and Dr. Christina Chambreau replied that use of homeopathic medicine may prove to be a successful option for Joey the dog.

Q: Joey, one of our adopted dogs, has developed skin infections. We will have him on 21 days of antibiotics, but as soon as we stop, about 3 weeks later, he'll begin again. Our vet can't figure out why he's getting these but it may be some sort of allergy. We have him on omega 3 and 6 supplements, an organic dry dog food, which has none of the bad stuff dogs are typically allergic to, plus it is a brown rice base. Dr. Chambreau is an internationally known homeopathic veterinarian. She is chair of the board and founder of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy and is on the faculty of the National Center for Homeopathy Summer School. Your dog's energy field has some imbalances and is trying to correct them by producing the skin symptoms. At the same time you want to seek homeopathic or Chinese medical treatment to heal the underlying energy field illness. Many people learn how to select homeopathic remedies and herbs to help their animals when the problem is not too severe, by attending the classes in the Homeopathic Animal Care series in Bowie, Md. Since Joey has been on antibiotics it would be helpful to add unsweetened, plain yogurt with active cultures to his diet. This will help restore the natural balance of bacteria necessary for a healthy digestive tract. To sooth his irritated skin you can mist him with tea-tree essential oil and dab a saturated cotton ball on the most irritated areas. Add 5-10 drops of the essential oil to a misting bottle of filtered water and shake gently before each use. Tea-tree is a natural antiseptic that is effective for fungus and infections.
